In cooperation with L-up, AeroVantage has supported dozens of proposals for European grant funding since 2015. This comprised:

Horizon 2020 / Horizon Europe (including major Joint Undertakings like SESAR and Clean Aviation),
European Innovation Council (EIC) Pathfinder for universities and RTO's,
IEC Accelerator programs for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs),
Innovation Fund,
European Defense Fund (including predecessors).

Clients range from large consortia lead by the major European aerospace and defence OEMs or leading Research and Technology Organisations down to innovative start-up SMEs with game changing ideas.

Example projects: OLGA → (Green airports); HECATE → (Hybrid Electric Aircraft Technologies); FITNESS → (Pathfinder on intelligent machine skins).

AMPAIRE - HYBRID ELECTRIC AIRCRAFT

Building an ecosystem in Europe

for regional electric aviation

As European representative, AeroVantage pursued funding sources to establish a European presence and customers in several EU countries. A major activity was securing the Innovate UK funded 2ZERO project and consortium. Besides Ampaire, the partnership comprised an airline, 2 regional airports, a university, a power grid company and a regional development agency. The work also comprised liaison to the UK CAA for permit to fly for the longest hybrid electric aircraft flight to date at that moment.

CONSCIOUS AEROSPACE

Starting up the dream of

Hydrogen flight.

In 2022, Unified International founded Conscious Aerospace to realize the dream of hydrogen powered flight to combat aviation's impact on climate change. Conscious Aerospace and a consortium of partners obtained funding under the Aviation in Transition program of the Netherlands national Growth Fund.

Through Unified, we supported the preparation and initial phases of the 90M€ HAPSS project (Hydrogen Aircraft Propulsion and Storage Systems) from summer 2022 up to March 2024. This included growing the engineering staff, interim project management and unlocking the 2nd phase of funding with the team. Also we arranged inital introduction to EASA and supported contacts with launching customer from the role of program director.

DART AEROSPACE

Research into Flotation Devices

for offshore operations

Through Unified International, we supported the proposal development for this EASA study, which was funded by the European Commission under Horizon 2020 budget. After the project was awarded, the role shifted to support to the project manager and liaison towards EASA. Report reviewing was also part of the scope. The project goal was to assess technical challenges for installation of additional flotation devices for helicopters to improve survivability in case of unscheduled water entry and capsize events.
